Books - live them, love them, and best of all : READ them

Many students here in the US don't enjoy reading. Hell, most of the kids here hate reading. I'm at a lost as to why, because well - as my English teacher would say it :" books are like birds, they're an escape, and they're like your own personal garden in your pocket". And before i start pouring my heart out about books, lets make something clear: There are two types of people in the world, ones that love books, and ones that just don't understand. And another thing: I'm not a nerd :) hope you got that in your head.
LAAAAAAAAAAAAA DIDAAAAAAAa, BLAH BLAH BLLAHHH.

Anyways...
As a girl who has been in love with books ever since forever, i understand how my views are probably super opinionated. I apologize ahead of time.
But when i said before that i wasn't a nerd, well that's true. Sure i read.. BUT READING INTERESTING ROMANCE STORIES does not make you a nerd.
Books TEACH.
Books allow you mind to be OPENED to NEW & NEVER ENDING POSSIBILITIES.
You get to learn many things you otherwise will have no way of knowing if you spend time in front of a TV or playing video games.And no - learning how to shoot a gun w/ your playstation is NOT learning (:
And sure - of course sitting somewhere reading 24/7 isn't exactly hardcore exercise, but reading is healthy as long as you keep a balance of EVERYTHING.
Reading promotes CREATIVITY. IMAGINATION. yayy xD
And really, reading really helps your grades in Language Arts (ENglish) class.That's because the more you're exposed to books the more your understanding of literature increases. And by the way, your spelling skills increase too. Sooo.. you can say WATCH OUT EVERYONE, IM GONNA SMUSH YOU WITH MY ULTRA SPELLING SKILLS. MUAHAHA >:D 
   
Livveeeee BOOKS.  Books ARE our life, whether we want it to be or not. Because they're everywhere, if you haven't been noticing. School, local Barnes & Noble or Borders, city libraries, they can be seen EVERYWHERE every day, every SECOND of our lives. So you pretty much have to get used to it - whether you like it or not . But please, find a book that interests you.
